Car hire

We can organise a hire car, for this you need a valid European driving licence.

Alternatively we can arrange for you to be collected from the airport or station by a taxi or hired driver.

By Train

Always have cash, taxis may not accept credit cards and machines have been known not to work. This has caused much flowing of tears.

Trains leave London from Paddington station. Our local station is Goring and Streatly.

Once inside Paddington look at the large screens for trains to Oxford.

MAKE SURE you see the name Goring and Streatly listed as a place where the train stops, because some trains go to Oxford without stopping at Goring.

In the event of any problems please call us from Paddington. Not a bad idea to call us when you leave Paddington.

It takes a little over one hour to get from Paddington to Goring and Streatley. All trains stop at Reading and the station at Goring and Streatley is THREE stops (about ten minutes) after Reading.

Good idea not to fall asleep as it makes it difficult to leave the train - this has happened on several occasions.

Goring and Streatley Station is tiny, cross the bridge to the main exit.It is fifteen minutes drive to our house.
